Patricia L. Mumaw, age 74, of Versailles, passed away at 10:15 PM Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Versailles Rehab & Healthcare Center.
Patricia was born March 1, 1949, in Troy to the late Paul & Theresa (Price) Gessler. Patricia was also preceded in death by her husband, Denis “Denny” Mumaw, on October 23, 2019, whom she married May 22, 1971; her sister, Sherry Sowers; and her brother, Linn Gessler.
Patricia is survived by her children, Tracy Mumaw of Versailles, Christopher & Molly Mumaw of Versailles, and Kevin Mumaw of Versailles; grandchildren, Jayden Mumaw, Morgan Mumaw, Jillian Mumaw, Jocelyn Mumaw, Madison Mumaw and Makenzie Mumaw; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Tom & Judy Mumaw of Versailles; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Patricia was a 1967 graduate of Versailles High School. She was a school bus driver for Versailles Schools until her retirement in 2016. Patricia was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles. She enjoyed flower gardening, antique shopping, supporting her grandchildren in sports and school activities. Patricia was an avid dog lover. Patricia enjoyed vacationing at Disney World, St. Augustine Beach and the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 14, 2023, at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev. Fr. Matt Feist celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery in Versailles.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and Friday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles.
