DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners’ May 26, 2026, regular public session started at 9:30 a.m. All Commissioners were present. The reading of the minutes from May 21st was first and approved, and the examination and allowance of bills for May 26th was next. The General Fund total was $14,268.14. The Outside General funds were $38,058.07, and the total was $52,326.21, which was approved.
The Opioid Settlement fund amounts were released by the Commissioners today. The Sheriff’s office gets $25,000.00, the Health Department gets $40,000.00, Darke County Recovery Services receives $25,000.00, as does Impactful Ripples, Inc. The Greenville Police Department receives $21,266.45. All were approved.
The Darke County Airport is eligible to receive money from ODOT Aviation for a project funding a new wind cone. The amount available is $110,875.00. If granted, the Commissioners’ matching funds will be $5,575.00.
An amendment to the 2023 Ohio Lead Safe Grants fund for use at 110 Cypress Street in Greenville was presented. The original amount was $103,880.00, and $4,200.00 more is requested to remove two cabinets and interior door trim.
The 2023 Lead Safe Grants Fund awarded $55,108.00 for rehabilitation at 602 S. Main Street in Ansonia. This rehab will all come from the Grant.
Expense Requests for the Sheriff and EMA were accepted. The Ohio Tactical Officers Assoc. Conference in Sandusky, June 7-12, for Greg Fourman totaled $420.00, and the Ohio EMA Directors Conference on Sept. 29-30 in Columbus for Mindy Saylor and Ken Johnson totaled $570.00, and both were approved.
Another Ohio Lead Safe Grant was approved for rehabilitation at 1747 Hollansburg-Arcanum Road, New Madison. The amount was $59,030.00.
A change order for Level MB for the hangar at the airport was approved. The $29,215.75 was approved for adding an oil separator to the trench drain, a full-line panel to the hangar aircraft door, and 2 windows to the hangar aircraft door. All were approved.
