Onis Elbert Craddock, 87, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on January 5, 2024, at Everheart Hospice Care Unit. He was born on July 12, 1936, in rural Caddo County, Oklahoma, to the late Van and Lucille (Archer) Craddock.

He was a lifelong traveler who had a passion for family, golfing, and the great outdoors. He enjoyed playing the card game called Pitch when the family got together. 

He retired from the United Telephone Company in Ohio, where he worked for many years. 

Onis was born into a large family, and he leaves behind a multitude of relatives whom he loved.

He is survived by two brothers, Larry Craddock and wife Samie of Mustang, Oklahoma and Joe Craddock of Ft. Cobb, Oklahoma. His six loving daughters. Nona (Steven) Kennedy, Verna (Lloyd) Garland, Linda (Arthur) Smith, Rhonda Kolling, Karla (Gary) Garber and Trica (Jeffrey) Felty. His 12 grandchildren,20 great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister: Lenard Craddock of Benton City, WA.; Reginald Craddock of Lookeba, OK; Lonnie Craddock of Ft. Cobb, OK; Paul Craddock of Napoleon, OH; Ada (Craddock) Morris of Binger, OK, David Craddock of Tampa FL, JW Craddock of Apache, OK, and Dan Craddock of Ft. Cobb, OK.

During his lifetime, Onis faced incredible adversity and never flinched. He was an inspiration to all who knew him and will be sorely missed.

The family is grateful to the wonderful Everhart Hospice Care Unit staff who cared for Onis during his last days.

His ashes will be taken to the place where he was born. Arrangements have been entrusted to Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.

His last wish was that those he left behind would not grieve too long. Be joyful because he led a great life and will be together again with his loving wife of 54 years, Betty Craddock.
