DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners’ August 20, 2026, regular meeting began at 1:30 p.m., with Commissioners Aultman, Combs, and Flatter present. The Commissioners then approved the minutes from August 18th.
The examination and allowance of bills were presented and approved. The vouchers for August 19th and 20th were: General fund $88,274.92; outside General funds $132,064.29; for a total of $220,339.21.
A Transfer of Appropriations for the D.C. Common Pleas Court was next. Funds were needed for new subscriptions, totaling $ 4,000.00.
The Grants Dept. presented 3 fund advance requests. The first of the 2024 CDBG grant funds was to cover April-June salary reimbursements totaling $22,282.95. The second was for the Box Hangar Grant, totaling $1,186.50 for CTL Engineering, and the third covered Shinn Bros. work on the South High Street Arcanum project from the 2024 CDBG grant, totaling $115,288.00. All were accepted.
An agreement was reached between Darke County and Montgomery County regarding maintenance and improvements to specific road sections and bridges along the Darke/Montgomery County line. This is the continuation of a long-time agreement between the counties.
The Auditor’s office declared a Canon calculator junk, and the decision was approved.
The Darke County tire cleanup on Sept. 23rd will take place at the Rumpke facility from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. The cost will be $2 for car tires(maximum of 10 per person), $8 for semi tires, and $20 for tractor tires.
Acceptance of one bid for technology services was presented. The bid was from Expedient Technology Services and will be reviewed for acceptance.
The Treasurer, Scott Zumbrink, will attend the CTAO Conference and Continuing Education in Columbus on November 16th-19th, 2026. The total cost will be $886.49, and it was approved.
