Ohio ties all-time state record for tornados

OHIO – After a tornado touched down on Wednesday in East Central Ohio, the state officially tied for the all-time record of tornado touchdowns in a single season.

According to WHIO Weather Specialist Nick Dunn, Ohio currently sits at 62 total tornados for the 2024 season so far. The last time the state has seen this many twisters was set back in 1992.

With the severe weather season not over yet, most Ohioans are not wanting to set a new record in this category.
