DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners’ regular Tuesday, May 5, 2026, meeting started at 9:30 a.m. with Commissioners Aultman, Combs, and Flatter present. The Commissioners then approved the minutes from April 30th.
The Examination and Allowance of bills dated May 5th were presented. The General Fund amount was $47,415.25, and the Outside General Funds were $124,478.23, totaling $171,894.08. They were approved.
The Darke County Grants Department requested a Transfer of Appropriations. The transfer was for multiple grants: the 2026 ODOT Apron/Taxi grant, the 2025 EMPG Grant, and the FAA Box Hangar Grant, totaling $88,956.16. All were approved.
Jobs and Family Services then received its monthly obligation from the County in the amount of $61,199.83.
The EMPG grant came in higher than expected, so a Revenue and Appropriation increase of $8,148.00 was approved.
A fund transfer for the D.C. EMPG (Emergency Management Performance Grant) came in higher than expected, and $2,716.00 was approved.
Patriot Engineering and Environmental received a consultant contract for the 501 Gray Avenue property in Greenville. The contract amount was for $157,855.00. It was approved.
Solid Waste and Randolph Farms, Inc. added a service contract for Wayne Lakes Park. They will provide an 8-cubic-yard bin for pickup two times a week. The price for the first year will be $250.00/month.
Six vacant or blighted structures were approved for demolition for the 2026 Building and Site Revitalization program. Three properties are in Ansonia, two in Greenville, and one in Arcanum.
Thursday, May 28th, at 1 p.m. was set as the deadline for bids for the Village of Palestine, Ohio, Main Street Sidewalk replacement, Phase III contract.
Wagner Paving was awarded the 2026 contract for the New Weston Street improvements. The total cost is $86,725.50. This includes the base bid and alternates B&C.
