
DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners’ August 11, 2026 regular meeting started at 9:30 a. m. with Commissioners Aultman, Combs and Flatter present. The Commissioners then approved the minutes from August 6th.
The examination and allowance of bills were presented and approved. The vouchers for August 6th and 11th were: General fund $12,686.42; outside General funds $43,448.85; for a total of $56,135.27.
Two Departments had Transfers of Appropriations. The airport needed additional appropriations totaling $15,000.00 for maintenance and building supplies, and the Auditor needed $10,000.00 for postage.
Two fund advances for the Darke County Grants Dept. were approved. One for $3,480.00 for the Jail Assessment Grant, and $11,500.00 for the 2025 Brownfield Grant for Palestine.
The next three Resolutions were to accept CEBCO’s Health Insurance rates for 2027, the Renewal rate for Vision Insurance, and the new rate for Dental Care. Vision and Dental care are 100% paid for by the employees. The employee share of health insurance is 12% for single coverage and 17% for other coverage. An overall 7.3% increase over 2026 in Health Insurance, much less than anticipated.
Expense requests were submitted and approved for the Common Pleas Court and the Clerk of Courts. Brittany Johns and Camille Harlan will attend the Ohio Magistrate Conference, Sept. 9-11 in Columbus, totaling $2,368.00. Cindy Pike will attend the Mercer County Clerk of Courts new software review in Celina on August 11th for $45.00.
A Proclamation for the National Emergency Management Awareness Month was Journal information, and so was the monthly Inventory and Obligations and Securities report.
Commissioners then went into recess at 9:43 for an executive session while waiting on the prosecutor’s office to arrive. The Executive session began upon their arrival at 9:58 and ended at 10:06, with no action taken. Session ended at 10:06
