New airport hanger construction receives notice of award

DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners’ regular meeting started at 1:33 p.m. on September 16, 2025, with Commissioners Aultman, Flatter, and Combs present.

The Commissioners then waived the minutes from Sept. 4th and Sept 11th. The examination and allowance of bills for Sept. 4th, 11th, and the 16th were $15,487.55 for the General fund, $299,540.43 for outside funds, and a total of $315,027.98, which was approved.

A three-step transfer of appropriations for the Darke County EMA was presented. An additional supplemental revenue match for the 2023 EMPG Grant for $6,333.00 was approved. Next the Appropriation increase for $6,333.00 from the county’s share was added for a total of $12,666.00. Then a fund advance back of $55,650.00 was presented, and both were approved. The Commissioners had a transfer of $1,000.00 to pay for electric charges at Stillwater Sewer for the rest of the year.

A notice of Award was given to Level MB, LLC, for the construction of the new Hangar at the Airport. The Hangar, 120 feet by 100 feet, will cost $1,218,297.84

The installation of three rooftop units for the Wagner Avenue facility was awarded to Bolyard Heating and Cooling.  One 60-ton unit at Edison is $19,800.00, and two 40-ton units and two 20-ton units are $15,064.00. The cost to install a 3-package roof unit at one stop is $6,200.00.

Two expense requests, one from the Auditor and one from the Sheriff, were approved. The Auditor is sending Carol Ginn, Shana Howard, Geoff Surber, and Brian Holsapple to Columbus on November 18th-21st, for the CAAO Winter Conference in Columbus. Total Cost for all four is $5,260.00. The Sheriff is requesting an online Internal Affairs Criminal VS. Administrative Investigations program for Randy Linkous on Oct. 16th. Registration is $150.00

A letter from the Ohio EPA was entered into the Journal concerning a water problem in New Weston.
