GREENVILLE – Fort GreeneVille Chapter DAR, a Vietnam War Commemoration Commemorative Partner, invites everyone to visit the National Vietnam War Veterans Day display at the Greenville Public Library during the month of March. The display is in honor of local Vietnam Veterans. On the second floor, the display features pictures of local Vietnam Commemorative events hosted by Fort GreeneVille Chapter DAR with our local Darke County Vietnam Veterans and memorabilia.
Also featured is Vietnam Veteran Gaylen Blosser. Blosser served with Alpha Company, First Battalion, 46th Infantry, 196th Light Infantry Brigade, 23rd Infantry Division, Vietnam. He enlisted in 1968 as a teenager. He served at the battle “Operation Lamar Plain” as a line soldier and Radio (RTO). Blosser received the Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge (CIB), Presidential Unit Citation, Meritorious Unit Citation, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, Expert Badge with Rifle and M-60 Machine Gun Bar, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Good Conduct Medal.

“Although the Vietnam War 50th Anniversary Commemoration has been decommissioned by the Department of Defense in Washington, D.C., Fort GreeneVille Chapter DAR continues to be committed to our local Vietnam Veterans to ‘remember and never forget, says Helen Wright, long-time member of Fort GreeneVille DAR.
