DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners’ regular meeting started at 9:30 a.m. with Commissioners Aultman, Combs and Flatter present. The Commissioners then approved the minutes from August 20, 2026.
The examination and allowance of bills were presented and approved. The vouchers for August 21st and 25th were General Fund $10,601.27; the outside General funds were $208,008.63 for a total of $218,607.90.
Delinquent sanitary charges for the Fort Jefferson Sewer District were turned over to the Auditor for collection. The total amount was $3,030.72.
More Opioid settlement funds were dispersed by the Opioid Settlement Committee. $17,500 went to All People Thriving and the mental health task force, and $25,000 to the Gettysburg Fire Dept. for radios. The committee must follow strict guidelines to allocate funds.
The Darke County Grants Dept. had two fund advance backs, both from the 2025 Brownfield Grant. The first advance back was for the Treaty Lanes project, totaling $60,901.16, and the second was for the Hamilton property, totaling $53,440.37.
The Advance backs were followed by two fund advances for the Grants Dept. The first advance was for $3,579.70 for the 2025 Box Hangar grant to cover BF&S’s May-June Invoice for design and construction. The second advance was for $6,380.00 for the 2025 Jail Assessment Grant to cover DLZ’s invoice for professional services.
Billie Zelsnack was granted a certificate of Appointment as an Eligibility Referral Specialist, starting September 9th for Darke County JFS.
One expense request was on the docket for the Municipal Court. Judge Julie Monnin was approved for $108.20 to attend a judicial symposium at NCR Country Club in Kettering on September 25th.
