MIAMI COUNTY – Scammers are contacting family and friends of incarcerated inmates and soliciting them for bond money so the inmate can be released. At least three individuals have fallen victim to this scam after sending money via Venmo.
Bonds in Miami County are accepted only by the Miami County Clerk of Courts Office. No one from the government solicits bond monies for inmates to be released at any time for any reason.
