MIAMI COUNTY – Over the past couple of days residents have received phone calls from someone identifying themself as an employee of the Miami County Sheriff’s Office. The caller is leaving a message stating that they need to discuss a legal matter with the resident and to call them back at the provided phone number. We know these calls to be fake and not from a member of our staff.
We ask residents to use caution if they receive one of these calls and not to call any number provided in a message without first verifying it. You can verify a call by calling the records section at 937.440.6085 during business hours or non-emergency dispatch after business hours at 937.440.9911.
It should also be noted that no member of the Miami County Sheriff’s Office will call you and ask for your personal information or for you to provide any type of payment.
