GREENVILLE – The Lady Wave varsity softball program placed two players on the All-Ohio OHSAA fastpitch softball teams. Zoey Burns earned her second All-Ohio First Team, and Kylar Arnett made the All-Ohio Second Team playing for veteran LWSB coach Jerrod Newland.
Arnett, a clutch-hitting slick-fielding sure-handed second baseman solidifies the Lady Wave program for the 2025 season bringing a .480 batting average and a .622 on-base percentage from her just completed junior season.
“Kylar had a great junior season,” said Newland. “She played very hard and fast and covered some ground in the field. Solid young lady and family. So proud of her and everything. She went to the leadoff position and has played all three years, and I can’t wait for her senior campaign. She plays the game with a high level of enthusiasm and passion. Great things coming this year.”
A power-hitting starting pitcher, Burns is included among the top 200 players in the USA for the 2024 season to go along with her two First Team All-Ohio honors. Burns has a three-year .404 batting average with 13 home runs, all while owning a three-year 1.551 ERA on the mound.
“Zoey being All-Ohio First Team twice is amazing and incredible,” said Newland. “Zoey had a great year and is having fun playing the game and teaching young’uns.”
“Zoey is a great ‘A’ average student with a great personality,” he added.
“We are so excited about the 2025 senior class and what they will bring to the table. It’s crazy to return two All-Ohio players to the program, and I know those two and their fellow seniors, who all have a lot of varsity experience and success, are completely excited and super stoked for an amazing last season here at the Ville in 2025.
The 2025 LWSB seniors are Kylar Arnett, Zoey Burns, Marisa Hicks, Maddie Hutchins, and Morgan Thompson.
