Lowell L. Hawkins (78)

Lowell L. Hawkins, age 78, of Versailles, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy.

He was born on October 30, 1946 in Greenville to the late Virgil and Edith (Anthony) Hawkins.

In addition to his parents, Lowell is preceded in death by his brother, Keith Hawkins and half-brother, Ray Hawkins; and his precious fur babies, Max and ZoE’.

Lowell is survived by his companion of 30 years, Agnes (Petho) Hawkins, the love of his life, who he married on December 19, 2009 and renewed vows with on June 19, 2025; daughter, Becky (Jon) Swob; step sons, Chad Lee and Todd Moody; grandchildren, Josh, Brittany, Sara, and Tiffany; 11 great grandchildren; brothers, Tom (Karol) Hawkins, Virgil (Michelle) Hawkins; sister-in-law, Sophia (Dan) Seagrave; brother in law, Gabe (Leona) Petho; special nephew, Mike (Christie) Hawkins; special niece, Angie (Travis) Gambrel; aunts, Roma (Dick) Stump and Wilma (Jack) Reck; countless nieces, nephews, and cousins; precious fur baby, Priscilla; and special friends, Dennis Davison, Harlan Camacho, and Tony Stewart.

Lowell graduated from Westmont High School in 1965. He belonged to the First Assembly of God in Greenville and the Ansonia American Legion #353. Lowell loved to travel and has been to 45 states, Canada, the Netherlands, Czechoslovakia, and Hungary. He enjoyed the Darke County Fair, Eldora Speedway (where he worked security), NASCAR, NHRA, Cincinnati Reds, college basketball, hunting, horse races, and playing jeopardy with his wife. Lowell was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served during Vietnam.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Assembly of God, Greenville.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at First Assembly of God, Greenville, with Pastor Dale Boeger officiating.

A visitation will be held prior to the service at the church from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM.
