PIQUA – The City of Piqua’s Lock 9 Park has been named one of three finalists for Heritage Ohio’s Best Downtown Placemaking Award.

The Best Placemaking Award is presented to an organization and/or municipality actively engaged in efforts to enhance their downtown’s appearance with the intention of creating public spaces that promote people’s health, happiness and well-being through a program of streetscape and/or downtown design improvements.

Heritage Ohio, the statewide Main Street coordinating agency under Main Street America, honors the people, places and projects that exemplify a commitment to growth through preservation and revitalization at a ceremony each year.

This year’s award ceremony will be hosted from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 15 in the historic Midland Theatre in downtown Newark. The award ceremony kicks off the 2024 Heritage Ohio Annual Conference and is free and open to anyone to attend.
