VANDALIA – The Greenville Lady Wave remain alone atop the MVL with a Thursday night 14-4 run rule win over the home standing Butler Lady Aviators.
“Great team win and effort on the road,” said Greenville coach, Jerrod Newland. “We attacked the ball very aggressively today and played well.”
Buter took an early 1-0 lead after one-inning of play with the Lady Wave rebounding with six-runs in the top of the second to lead 6-1 after two complete.
The Lady Aviators tacked on three-runs in the bottom of the third in what would prove to be their last runs of the night trailing 6-4.
Greenville added two-runs in the top of the fourth and three-runs in each of the fifth and sixth-innings in earning the Miami Valley League run rule victory.
Zoey Burns pitched two-innings allowing two-earned runs on two-hits, three-walks while striking out two. Kylie Hamm tossed four-innings of shutout ball allowing one-hit, one walk while striking out two.
The Lady Wave cranked out 16-hits on the night with Kylar Arnett and Kylie Hamm each collecting three-hits. Arnett’s night at the plate included a double, 3-RBIs and a run scored.
“Zimmer and Zoe (Zoey Burns) had a few clutch hits,” Newland noted. “Arnett hit it very square and we ran bases well.”

“Excited for tomorrow (Friday, May 5th) for senior day and league title chances,” Coach Newland stated. “Amazing opportunities ahead for the next few weeks and it all starts Friday at the stadium and rolls into next week.”
