Lady Wave golfers defeat Sidney

Greenville improves to 9-1 overall with 203-243 MVL victory

GREENVILLE — The Greenville Lady Wave golf team earned a Miami Valley League victory Tuesday, defeating the visiting Sidney Lady Yellow Jackets 203-243 at Turtle Creek Golf Course.

“The girls struggled a little bit today, but we did get the win,” Greenville coach Tracy Haines said.

Freshman Piper Jenkinson led Greenville with a nine-hole score of 40. Lyla Brinley and Anna Cox each shot a 50, while Kennedy Schoen completed the Lady Wave’s scoring with a 63.

Jenkinson continues to lead the MVL with a nine-hole scoring average of 37.8. She also leads the conference with 167 holes played this season.

Butler freshman Payton Griffith ranks second in the league with a 47.6 average through 72 holes.

Greenville improved to 9-1 overall and 4-1 in MVL play with the victory.
