PIQUA — The Greenville girls golf team defeated Piqua 186-201 in a Miami Valley League match at Piqua’s Echo Hills Golf Course.
Freshman Piper Jenkinson led the Lady Wave with a 36. Junior Anna Cox followed with a career-best 49, while sophomore Lyla Brinley shot a 50 and sophomore Ayla Weyant added a career-best 51 to complete Greenville’s scoring.
“The girls played much better today than they did against Sidney yesterday,” Greenville coach Tracy Haines said. “Anna Cox and Ayla Weyant both had personal bests in the match.”
Senior Kennedy Schoen added a 52, and sophomore Payton Fourman finished with a 57.
Piqua senior Haylie Shultz led the Lady Indians with a 43. Senior Kaylie Hittle shot a 50, junior Kamri Mendenhall recorded a 53 and junior Ava Bolin finished with a 55.
Junior Isabella French also shot a 56, while junior Kameron Pfenning added a 61.
“It was good to get the win on the same course we will play sectionals on Monday,” Haines said.
Greenville improved to 10-1 overall and 5-1 in conference play.
