GREENVILLE — The Greenville Lady Wave varsity golf team earned victories over Piqua and Butler at Turtle Creek Golf Course.
Greenville defeated Piqua 197-216 in a Miami Valley League match Tuesday, improving to 8-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play.

Freshman Piper Jenkinson led the Lady Wave with a 38. Lyla Brinley carded a 47, Payton Fourman shot a 55, and Kennedy Schoen finished with a 57 to complete Greenville’s team score.
Erin Winner added a 66, and Anna Cox recorded a 70.

“We have not had to play in the heat and humidity for a while, and it affected the scores today,” Greenville coach Tracy Haines said.
In an earlier home match, Greenville defeated Butler 191-221 to avenge a two-stroke loss to the Lady Aviators the previous week.

Jenkinson earned medalist honors with a 36. Brinley shot a 47, Schoen recorded a 52 and Fourman added a 56.
Winner finished with a 57, while Ayla Weyant shot a 67.

“It was a great day for the Lady Wave golf team,” Haines said. “We lost to Butler last week by two strokes, and today was a bit of redemption for the girls.”
