LEWISTOWN, Ohio – The Greenville Lady Wave battled back from a 23-26 fourth-quarter deficit to defeat the home-standing Indian Lake Lady Lakers in non-conference varsity basketball action.
The Lady Lakers opened an 11-7 advantage after one quarter of play and pushed its lead to 21-15 outscoring Greenville 10-8 in the second period of play.
Greenville’s defense took over the second half limiting Indian Lake to a total of 9 second-half points taking the third quarter 8-5 to trail 26-23 heading to the final quarter of play.
Megan Lind dropped in 6 of her game-high 13 points in the fourth to lead the Lady Wave while the team was limiting the Lady Lakers to 4 fourth-quarter points in earning a 3-point come-back win.
Megan Lind led Greenville and all scorers with a game-high 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists, and a blocked shot. Brooke Schmidt led Greenville with 12 rebounds while contributing 6 points including 4-4 at the free throw line and a steal. Megan Loudy had 7 points, 2 rebounds, and a steal. Avery Bauman 6 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals. Maddie Hutchens accounted for 1 point and 3 rebounds. Jayda Lyons had 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals, and Sara Loudy had 2 rebounds and 1 assist.
Greenville hosts the Sidney Lady Yellow Jackets in MVL action tonight, Wednesday, November 29 with a 7:30 p.m. start time. The Lady Wave JV squad takes the court at 6 p.m. in the early game.
