DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners’ April 23, 2026, regular meeting started at 1:30 p.m., with Commissioners Aultman, Combs, and Flatter present. The Commissioners then approved the minutes from April 21st.
The Examination and Allowance of bills dated April 23rd were presented. The General Fund amount was $38,507.39, and the Outside General Funds were $136,049.18, for a total of $174,556.57. They were approved.
The Darke County Grants Dept. had two fund advances. The first advance was to Terrill Business for Susan Laux’s HP Notebook and wireless mouse for $2,057.59. The second advance to BF&S for professional services in March from the Box Hangar Grant. Both were approved.
A Letter of Cancellation was sent to RTA Fleet Maintenance, effective 30 days from the date of the letter.
Kremer Roofing of Versailles received the award to repair storm damage to the Wagner Avenue location. The contract is for $55,434.00.
The Sheriff and the Common Pleas Court presented expense requests. The Sheriff’s request for Mark Whittaker, Tyler Young, Shawn Trissel, and Steve Cox to attend the BSSA Spring conference and active shooter incident training in Columbus on May 12-14, 2026. The cost is$4,412.80. Common Pleas requested $559.00 for Chip Roberts to attend the Ohio Bailiffs & Court Officers Association spring Conference. Both requests were approved.
Mindy Saylor, EMA Director, presented the Ohio EMA NIMS Compliance Certification Statement. It was approved.
Two Transfers of Appropriations were next. The Darke County Board of Developmental Disabilities transferred $15,000.00 for unanticipated expenses. The Juvenile/Probate court transferred $5000.00 to cover computer costs. Both were approved.
Reminder: Trash Bash is this weekend. Be careful and watch for people picking up trash along the roadways.
May 2nd is Prescription Drug Take Back at Family Health from 10:00-2:00.
