UNION CITY, Ind. – The Union City Jr/Sr High School is excited to announce its new Athletic Director, Keith Maloy.

Maloy, who is a 1992 UC graduate and former head coach of the varsity football program, shared his excitement about taking on the new position. He replaces former AD, Mike Thornburg who headed up the department for a decade.

“This opportunity means everything to me. The chance to help coaches and student-athletes is what appeals to me the most,” Maloy stated. “To be able to do this in my hometown is the best feeling in the world. Mike (Thornburg) has done a great job over the last 10 years. I hope I can continue the great things he has done.”

District Superintendent, Aaron Black shares Maloy’s enthusiasm and is confident the athletic program will continue to grow and thrive.

“We are excited to move forward with Coach Maloy as the next Athletic Director. Mike (Thornburg) had done a great job bringing the Athletic Department to a good spot, and now it is time for a hometown guy like Keith to take us to the next level,” Black said.

As the new Athletic Director, Maloy passes his head coaching position on to another UC graduate, Kyler Purdin, who will lead the Indians on the field for the 2024 season.
