The Darke County Senior Center is pleased to share its June schedule along with several positive additions. Beginning June 1st, the center will have a dedicated phone line for registrations, inquiries, and general communication at (937) 794-2556 and for email correspondence, please contact darkecountyseniors@gmail.com. Kindly note that this information may not appear on June’s printed flyers and calendars, as materials were both printed and distributed prior to these updates. Additionally, to better serve the senior community, administrative office hours will be available Monday through Thursday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Beech Grove Church is the DC Senior’s June 2026 Church of the month. They are located at 3420 Harrison Rd, Hollansburg and offer Sunday school for all ages at 9:30 am, fellowship on Sundays at 10:15 am followed by worship at 10:30 am. Beech Grove Church is a non-denominational Bible-based Christian church. They offer contemporary services with a mix of hymns and modern music. Their focus is to guide people with God’s word toward a close relationship with Him. The church is a family that lives by faith, is known by their love, and is a voice of hope. As the June sponsor of the month, Beech Grove Church will provide a $20 gift card to be drawn at the general meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, June 3rd at 3:00 pm. At the general meeting they will also provide treats to celebrate the June birthdays and refreshments for the main crafting event occurring later in June. Description: Planning for long-term care can feel overwhelming. What does it look like? What does it include? Where do you even begin? This workshop will help you understand your options, what to expect, and how to create a thoughtful plan for the future. How to Prepare for Long-Term Care is a free, small-group, in-person workshop hosted by the Area Agency on Aging and presented by Scott Leonardi, a licensed health and life insurance agent since 1995.

Description: Joe Bush will be doing chair massage which reduces stress by lowering cortisol levels and promoting a sense of calm. It also alleviates physical tension in the neck, shoulders, and back, which helps relieve muscle pain and improve circulation. Shelly Acker will be doing mini foot reflexology. Foot reflexology is a natural practice based on the idea that specific points on the feet correspond to different organs and systems of the body. By applying pressure to these points, reflexology helps improve circulation, reduce stress, promote relaxation, and support overall balance and well-being. Many people find it to be a soothing way to enhance both physical and emotional health.

Annie Kuebel will guide participants through this straightforward project that is both visually appealing and accessible to all skill levels. All events are held at the Birchwood Senior Center, 5844 Jaysville-St. Johns Rd, Greenville unless otherwise indicated. These events are open to anyone 55+ and a valid membership with the DC Center. Membership is $2 annually.

Any class with a fee must be prepaid at the time of registration, otherwise it will be considered void.
The center is always open while classes are conducted. Additionally, effective June 1st the center has added administrative hours from 10 am – 2 pm Monday through Thursday.
