With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of John David Paulus, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and son, on Friday, September 6, 2024, at his residence in Greenville, Ohio. Born on May 1, 1934, in Dayton, OH, John was the son of the late Clarence and Portia Paulus.
John is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Myra Jean Paulus; children, Bruce (Tammy) Paulus, Bonnie (Jim) Bolton, Barry (Kelly) Paulus, and BJ (Brooke) Paulus; brother, Marvin (Betty) Paulus; sister, Lois (Harold) Wiggins; grandchildren, Andrew Paulus, Nathan Paulus, Seth Paulus, Taylor Paulus, Jacob Smith, Ben Smith, Emily Bolton, Alex Bolton, Owen Paulus, Olivia Paulus, Ezekiel Paulus; great-grandchildren, Ivy Paulus, Aiden Paulus, Kitley Paulus, Micaiah Paulus, Bennett Paulus, Ezrah Mae Paulus, Saraiah Paulus.
John dedicated his life to Jesus Christ and loved sharing his faith with everybody the lord provided. He worked in the plumbing industry, owning JD Paulus Plumbing for over 13 years. He also worked many years as a mechanic and selling insurance, you could say he was a jack of all trades. John was a proud veteran of the United States Army. John’s commitment to his family was unwavering, and his memory will forever be held close in their hearts. If John was not on the softball field, you could find him riding his motorcycle.
John David Paulus will be remembered for his hard work, dedication, and his love for his family. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
A Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Castine Church in Arcanum, OH.
Funeral services to honor and celebrate John’s life will be held at the church following the visitation at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Abbottsville Cemetery in Arcanum.
