DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners’ July 7, 2026, public session started at 9:31 a.m., with Commissioners Aultman and Flatter present. The reading of the minutes from July 2nd was first and approved, and the examination and allowance of bills for July 7th was next. The General Fund total was $26,381.36. The outside General funds were $166,999.70, and the total was $193,301.06 and was approved.

Mercedes McFarland then gave an update on events at the OSU Extension office.

The Engineer had a fund advance to cover Osborne Associates’ bill for signs from the 2026 Sign Upgrade Grant. The advance was for $32,000.00 and will be repaid from the grant upon receipt. Then the Engineer had a fund transfer for the same grant to cover his $8,000.00 portion. Both were approved.

The Engineer was then authorized to prepare and submit OPWC and Executive contracts.

Darke County JFS and the city of Greenville, along with Spirit Ambulance, signed agreements for July 1st to June 30th, 2027. Within the City limits and within Darke County, the city will charge $24.95 per person each way for non-emergency transportation.  Spirit will charge $34.00 per person each way for emergency transportation within the city limits, $45.00 per person each way within the county, and $50.00 per person outside Darke County. 

Darke County Grants, part of the CDBG Allocation Program for the Village of Ansonia Water System Mapping Project was approved with Brumbaugh Engineering and Surveying, Inc. The work must be completed by August 1st, for a total of $19,500.00.

Darke County Grants also had a change order for the 2024 Demo and Site revitalization program pertaining to the property at 2585 Hollansburg-Palestine Road. The completion date is August 31st, and the total is $35,000.00. This includes demolition and asbestos abatement. 

A certificate of appointment for Sydney Oda, social services worker for JFS, was approved and is effective July 14th, 2026.
