Janice L. Stahl, age 85, of Salem, Indiana, & formerly of Greenville, passed away at 8:08 am Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at her residence.
Janice was born February 14, 1938, in Cold Spring, Kentucky, to the late Rev. Leo & Edna V. (Waymire) Sheffel. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Stahl Jr.; son, Terry L. Walters; and sister, Carol Oaks.
Janice is survived by her children, Penny (Billy) Chandler of Salem, Indiana, Joseph (Karla) Walters of Union City, Ohio, and Mark Walters of Salem, Indiana; 9 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Janice retired from General Motors with 25 years of service. She was a caregiver for her parents and husband. She loved animals.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville, with Pastor Jim Meredith officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Versailles. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice.
