Jane Ann Wills, 77, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County.
She was born on April 14, 1947, in Springfield, Ohio, to the late James and Lucille Mae (Good) Keeling.
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her infant daughter; and her sister, Dena Stokes.
Jane is survived by her husband of 54 years, Thomas Wills, whom she married on June 21, 1970; her children, Lori Carr of Lebanon, Ohio, Scott (Natalie) Wills of Jupiter, Florida, and Kelly (Zach) Rhodehamel of Tipp City, Ohio; her grandchildren, Alex Carr, Liam Carr, Shannon Wills, and Jacob Wills; her brother, Tim (Jodi) Keeling of Columbus; her brother-in-law, Dan Stokes of St. Louis, Missouri; and her sister-in-law, Marilyn (Ross) Gruber of Greenville.
Jane was a 1965 graduate of Springfield South High School. She continued her education at Wright State University, where she received her bachelor’s and master’s degree in education. Jane started her teaching career in Springfield before moving to Greenville, where she spent the rest of her elementary education career at East School.
Jane was a member of Greenville Church of the Brethren, where she was a devoted servant and volunteered in many capacities. She enjoyed singing and sang in many groups and choirs over the years. Reading was a passion of Jane’s, and she spent much of her free time enjoying a good book. She also enjoyed traveling, playing solitaire and going shopping. But above all, Jane’s family was her pride and joy, and she loved spoiling her grandchildren.
A celebration of Jane’s life will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, with Pastor Ron Sherck officiating. Burial will follow in Abbottsville Cemetery.
Guests may visit with Jane’s family on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or Ohio Hospice of Miami County.
