Jack L. Young, 83 of Palestine, Ohio, passed away on Thursday November 5, 2025, at 1:48 PM at Versalles Rehab and Healthcare Center, Versailles, Ohio. Jack was born November 9, 1942, in Union City, Indiana, the son of the late Harold and Henrietta (Ploch) Young. Jack was a farmer and loved to play basketball and played in several leagues.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vicki C. Young on February 12, 2018; and his sister, Linda Hufnagle.
Jack is survived by his children and spouses, Randy and Carla Young of Palestine, Roberta and Ed Smith of New Madison, and Robin and Brian Mogle of New Paris; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; his sister Joan Scarberry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Tuesday November 10, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Palestine Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Cherish Hospice.
