Inside Out Coaching’s ‘You Matter Movement’ branches out to Preble County

GREENVILLE— In less than a year, Leadership coach Heather Suerdieck has reminded almost 6,000 local students that they matter.

In the spring, Suerdieck began by handing out 2,500 You Matter bracelets and cards to Darke County high school students, with donations from local businesses.

Suerdieck continued her goal of getting a bracelet to every student in the county this season, by passing out an additional 1,500 bracelets to all of the eighth and ninth graders in Darke County.

Then a few weeks later, on Tuesday, she tackled Preble County, and passed out an additional 1,800 bracelets to students at Eaton High School.

“I’ve found that a lot of people want to do great things to support students,” she said. “That’s the generational impact where we really need to make the switch and support.”

The bracelets are made with help from Biller’s Stamps and Engraving, of Arcanum, and are available for purchase at four different locations in Darke County. Four Twenty Three in Greenville, Ashes to Beauty in Ansonia, Blue Willow Boutique in Versailles and 4One Apparel in Arcanum.

From each You Matter bracelet purchase, $2 goes back to buying the You Matter bracelets for Darke County students.

In addition to the bracelets, students received a card that reads, “You Matter. Two of the most powerful words on the planet, yet we struggle to say them to ourselves each and every day. Your journey matters. Your voice matters. Your feelings matter. Your thoughts matter. Your future matters. And most of all, you matter.”

Businesses that support the Preble County bracelet distribution include: Freedom First Credit Union, Preble County ACE Hardware, Skyline of Eaton, Thrive Therapeutics, Eaton Hometown Furniture, Bushrod Brew Works, Creative Comforts Veterinary Clinic, My County Link, Inside Out Coaching, ReMAX, Prodigy Salon & Spa LLC and the following community members: Rene Lair, Yolanda Haston and Tim and Annette Smith.
