Injury riddled Wave fall to Tippecanoe

GREENVILLE – The Wave to Harmon Field playing on new turf after a summer tornado required replacement.

An excellent Tippecanoe team defeated the injury-riddled Green Wave team 72-7 to advance to 3-0 in MVL play, while Greenville fell to 0-3.

Tipp City put 28 points on the board in both the first and second quarters, while Greenville would get its lone score of the night in quarter No. 2 on a 52-yard touchdown pass from Aiden Manix to John Barr with Mason Pierri splitting the PAT uprights, sending the teams to the halftime break with the Red Devils up 56-7.

The visitors added nine points in the third and seven in the fourth quarter under a running clock to win the conference game.

A bright spot for Greenville was Manix completing 14 of 21 passes good for 151 yards and a touchdown. Barr caught four passes for 75 yards, Isaac Kerg six receptions for 45 yards, and Gage Denham four catches for 31 yards.

Denham rushed for 27 yards on 14 carries for the Wave.

Kerg and Tristan Bey-Russel led Greenville in defense with 6 tackles each, both with five solo tackles. Landon Noble had five tackles, four solo, and Denham accounted for four tackles, one solo.

The Green Wave will host another excellent MVL team when the Butler Aviators come to Greenville with a perfect 3-0 record this Friday night. Butler has defeated Northmont 49-20, Piqua 17-7, and Troy 21-13.
