DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Seniors has teamed with Crème de la Crème for the naming of three ice cream flavors. Pints of these ice cream flavors are set to go on sale at Crème de la Crème, 322 S Broadway, Greenville on Thursday, April 16th until sold out. 10% of the sales from these three senior flavors will be donated to the Darke County Senior Center. These flavors will be in their dipping cabinet and are as follows:
“Back in the Day Butter Pecan”: buttery vanilla ice cream with buttery roasted pecans
“Memory Lane Moose Tracks”: chocolate malt base with peanut butter fudge pieces and a ribbon of fudge
“Icy Hot Vanilla Crunch”: Vanilla ice cream with a red hot cinnamon swirl and biscoff cookie pieces
The DC Seniors are hoping this will be a Win-Win situation for all those who enjoy ice cream.
The Darke County Senior Center invites you to a Senior Prom with the theme “APRIL IN PARIS,” taking place on Friday, April 17th from 7:00 to 10:00 pm at the Birchwood Senior Center, 5844 Jaysville-St. Johns Rd, Greenville, OH. This event is open to anyone aged 55 and older.
A King and Queen will be crowned during the evening, and all attendees are eligible for the honor. Photo stations will be available for those who want to commemorate the night. Dressing in evening attire is encouraged but not required—come as you feel comfortable.
Enjoy an evening of dancing and music, featuring DJ Karen Holsapple (also known as DJ Moose), who will play a variety of genres and take requests. Whether you love to dance or prefer to listen, there will be music for everyone to enjoy.
During the prom, you can view four large gift baskets packed with goodies, which will be raffled at the Senior Picnic on May 29th. The baskets were generously donated by the Social Dance class, the Game Day group, friends of Tennessie Hamilton, and Heritage House. Raffle tickets cost $1.00 each or six for $5.00 and are available from any board member between 11am and 2pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, now until May 29th.
Please be aware that some events taking place in the first week of May have an RSVP date of April. Prospective participants are encouraged to take note of the RSVP deadline, as well as the designated date and time for each program or event. Please be advised that certain events require prepayment with your RSVP; failure to submit payment may result in removal from the registration list to accommodate paying participants.
