Hemmelgarn to introduce Vicki’s Closet of Wayne HealthCare

GREENVILLE – The Greenville Business & Professional Women’s Club’s (BPW) Public Relations Committee is inviting all members and guests to their monthly meeting on Thursday, January 8th, to kick off the new year!

The meeting is to be held at the new Family Health Service Pharmacy Lobby on Meeker Road, Greenville at 6:30 PM. The meeting is hosted by Chair Susan Fowble, and members Kathy O’Dell, Gail Snyder, Julie Hart, and Leigh Fletcher.

The guest speaker is Anita Hemmelgarn of Vicky’s Closet at Wayne HealthCare. Anita graduated from the last 3-year class at Good Samaritan School of Nursing in 1971. While working at Wayne HealthCare a friendship with Kathy O’Dell, who was opening the first post-op recovery room, was formed. Anita learned of ‘Cindy’s Closet’ at Miami Valley Hospital and eventually brought the idea to an employee group at Wayne HealthCare. She received a positive response! We now have ‘Vicky’s Closet’ that provides clothing, stuffed animals and more to those in the recovery room. Hemmelgarn is from St. Henry, who, with her husband, Dave, has four children and seven grandchildren.

The dinner meeting starts at 6:30 PM at a cost of $15.00. RSVP by noon on January 5th, 2026 by contacting Alexia Sikes at alexias2010@yahoo.com. To keep up with future BPW events please like and follow us on our Facebook page, Greenville BPW. The Club’s mission is to achieve equity for all women in the workplace through advocacy, education, and information.

Fundraisers are held throughout the year to raise money to grant scholarships to Darke County senior high school girls and young women furthering their education. The Club meets the second Thursday of every month for a dinner meeting.
