GREENVILLE—Recently, the stores on Broadway St. underwent some slight rearranging.
Happily Ever Co., a boutique downtown that offers sizes small to 3X, recently moved just a bit down the downtown are from where it was originally housed.
It’s new storefront, 523 S. Broadway St., is much more spacious.
In its original set up, Owner Sarah Hall housed her warehouse in the Greenville Industrial Park.
Now, with a larger store, Hall, a 2008 Greenville graduate, houses her ne\ warehouse right in the back of the store.
“I wanted to combine the two because it’s just hectic driving back and forth,” Hall said. “If we ran out of something, we would have to go to the warehouse and bring it back here.”
Hall said she’d been contemplating the expansion for a bit.
When it opened up, she jumped on the chance.
“I heard this was going to be open,” she said. “After taking a look at the back room, I was like I can make this work.”
She added that moving her store just a few spaces down the sidewalk didn’t hurt either.
“It was really easy,” she said. “All of the clothes are on racks, so we just had to roll them down here. I had two of the girls help me roll stuff down and people were like ‘What is going on?!’ It was cool.”
She’s excited about more than just the extra storage.
The new store features windows at the entrance, and the dressing rooms are a bit bigger.
“With the windows, people can get an idea of what we carry,” she added. “Also, we were able to make the dressing rooms bigger. We added a foot and a half to each dressing room, instead of adding another one. This will help the ladies feel more comfortable when they’re trying on clothes.”
Expansion or not, Hall said her main thing is offering the community clothes that make them feel good.
Inclusivity is the biggest thing to her, she said.
“Since I’ve always been a mid-size, plus-sized person, I could never find anything in town for me,” she said. “I wanted to bring a shopping experience to ladies that are similar to me, where they can walk into a store and feel good about themselves.”
Coming up, Hall hopes to utilize her bigger space for events.
While nothing is in the books, she’s looking to do more as soon as this summer.
“There’s something I want to do for the next First Friday,” she said. “There’s an organization that reuses jeans. They take materials from used jeans and make something with them.”
