Darke County Veterans Services draws winning tickets in support of Veterans 2023 Washington DC trip

GREENVILLE – Winners of the 2023 Darke County Veterans Services gun raffle were drawn with both winning tickets purchased at the Great Darke County Fairgrounds.

“We would like to thank everyone who participated in the gun raffle this year and supported the Washington DC trip,” said Darke County Veterans Services Director/CVSO, Tom Pitman. “We are grateful for everyone in county who either enters the raffle or owns a business and donates towards our trip in whatever way they can.”

Greenville’s Tim Tyo was the winner a Auto-Ordnance Liberty .45 ACP 1911 Semi Auto Pistol from a ticket he purchased at the Annie Oakley Festival held on the Great Darke County Fairgrounds.

“It was a great investment,” Tyo said of his ticket purchase. “Not only do we get to help the Veterans but I get to take home a nice prize.”

Isaiah Baker from New Madison won the National Ordnance 30-06 Bolt Action Rifle with a ticket he purchased at the Great Darke County Fair.

“I was pretty excited,” Baker stated. “I saw Vet on the phone – I thought it was a veterinarian calling me and I picked it up and saw I won – I was pretty pumped.”

Greenville American Legion Post 140 sponsors the annual gun raffle in support of Darke County Veterans Services.

“We a grateful to everyone in Darke County who supports our Veterans,” Pitman concluded.
