GREENVILLE – The Greenville Lady Wave golf team traveled to Xenia’s WGC Golf Course on Thursday, September 26th to play in the Division I Sectional placing 13th out of 19 teams.
Greenville’s Vera Cox led the Lady Wave with an 84, Callee Moore had a 98, and Taylor Trissel and Reese Addington both had 111. Also playing for the Lady Wave was Kennedy Schoen with a 122.
Cox tied for fourth place requiring a playoff with two other girls to determine who would move on to the districts.
Cox birdied the first playoff hole to win advancing the Lady Wave junior to the District tournament.
“Vera showed a lot of mental toughness coming down the stretch and in the playoff,” said Greenville coach Tracy Haines. “This was Callee’s last tournament and she will be missed next year.”
The District tournament is scheduled for October 8th at Miamisburg’s Pipestone Golf Course.
