GREENVILLE – Megan Lind, the daughter of Stephanie and Scott Lind will take her basketball skills to the next level playing for the St. Ambrose Lady Bees located on the banks of the Mississippi in Davenport, Iowa while continuing her education.
“I always wanted to play college ball,” said Lind. “It is very exciting I have the chance to do that.”

“Megan is a special one,” said Greenville veteran Lady Wave coach Rachael Kerns. “This year’s senior class is so special, and she is a big reason why that class is special. Megan has the hard work, determination, and everything it takes to continue playing at the next level.”
Lind, a four-year varsity player for the Greenville Lady Wave, earned All-Miami Valley League First Team honors and District 9 Coaches Team. She was selected to play in the District 9 Senior All-Star game her senior season. As a junior, Lind was named to the All-MVL second team after missing the last month of the season with an injury.
“Unbelievable improvement,” Kerns said of Lind’s play from her freshman season to her senior year. “It all comes back to the amount of time she spent in the gym, and so much of it when she and her dad would come in and work together in the gym. Hard work goes a long way, and for her, you can see the difference.”

“Megan understands her role, whatever her role may be, and she is very good at accepting whatever role she is given,” added Coach Kerns. “Megan will do very well at the next level because she’ll go with whatever role the coach asks her to do. I needed her to be a little more selfish sometimes, but that’s just Megan and her personality.”
Playing for Greenville had Lind competing in the always tough Miami Valley League against larger schools than the Lady Wave, giving her an advantage heading to the next level of competition.
“The girls that can handle it and want to and can make it to the next level, that transition is a little bit easier because of what type of athletes we see day in and day out,” said Coach Kerns.

Lind, will major in Pre-Med with plans to become a Pediatric Surgeon.
“St. Ambrose has a good medical program, and I get to play basketball on a scholarship,” Lind noted.
Lind liked what she saw at St. Ambrose when choosing schools.
“Their coach is very nice,” Lind stated. “I like how he coaches, and the program fits me well. They run a lot of pick-and-roll style, post up, so it is what I like to do.”
Lind thanked the many who helped her reach her goal of playing women’s basketball at the college level.
“I want to thank my parents, all my coaches, Coach Kerns, Craig Riethman, my dad, my AAU coaches, and all my teammates for pushing me every day,” Lind said.
