DARKE COUNTY – On Wednesday at approximately 2:20 PM Darke County Deputies along with North Star Fire, Versailles Rescue, Ansonia Rescue and CareFlight were dispatched to Greenville St. Marys Road north of Medford Road in reference to a single-vehicle injury accident.
A preliminary investigation revealed a black 2012 Volkswagen Passat driven by Tessa Garcia (28) of Greenville was traveling northbound on Greenville St. Mary’s Road when she failed to negotiate a curve traveling off the right side of the roadway. Garcia’s vehicle traveled through the ditch and struck a tree head-on. Garcia had to be mechanically extricated from the vehicle.
Garcia was flown to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight where she is listed in critical condition.
The Darke County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team also responded to the scene for further investigation. This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
