PIQUA — The Greenville Green Wave boys tennis team turned in a strong Saturday showing, placing first as a team in the Coaches Cup Flight Tournament at Piqua.
Greenville earned first-place finishes in four of the five flights on the day. Eli Willis captured first place at first singles, Hudson Pierri finished first at second singles, Drew Beisner took first at third singles, and the second doubles team of Shane Gilman and Kelton Evans also finished first.
The Green Wave first doubles team of Silas Lacey and Gabe Rammel added a second-place finish.
“It was a great day for a lot of tennis and to get better,” said Greenville coach Sam Bowers. “These tournaments give a great opportunity to play several matches in one day and see how you can compete.”
Bowers was pleased to see the Green Wave rewarded across the lineup.
“It was nice to see us take home hardware at every slot and see kids get some recognition for the hard work they have put into this season,” said Bowers.
