Greenville tops Stebbins 4-1 for second straight win

Green Wave sweeps singles play, improves to 5-4 on the season in MVL action

GREENVILLE – The Greenville varsity boys tennis team defeated the Stebbins Indians 4-1 in Miami Valley League play to earn its second consecutive victory.

The Green Wave once again showed strength in singles competition, sweeping all three singles courts to power the team win.

At first singles Eli Willis earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory. Hudson Pierri followed with a 6-3, 6-3 win at second singles, while Drew Beisner posted a 6-0, 6-2 decision at third singles.

Greenville also got a key win from its second doubles team of Shane Gilman and Kelton Evans, who delivered a 6-1, 6-4 victory.

“An impressive win as well for our second doubles team of Shane Gilman & Kelton Evans, who seem to be finding some confidence, winning their match 6-1, 6-4,” said Greenville coach Sam Bowers.

With the win, the Green Wave improved to 5-4 on the season.
