GREENVILLE – The Greenville boys tennis team earned a strong 4-1 win over Bellefontaine to improve to 2-2 on the season.
Leading the way for Greenville were singles winners Eli Willis, Hudson Pierri and Drew Beisner, as the Green Wave swept all three singles matches on the day. Greenville also picked up a victory at second doubles from the team of Kelton Evans and Shane Gilman.
The win was a solid early-season result for Greenville against a Bellefontaine squad that has traditionally provided tough competition.
“Great team win against a team we typically have tough battles against each year,” said Greenville coach Sam Bowers.
This year’s lineup looks different from last season after the graduation of several key players, but Greenville has continued to develop through offseason work and daily improvement.
“Our team looks a lot different than last season with graduating some great players, but we had boys put in a lot of offseason work and getting better each day,” Coach Bowers noted. “Excited to keep getting experience, especially with four matches next week. Big week ahead.”
With the win, Greenville heads into a busy stretch of the schedule carrying momentum and growing confidence.
