BELLEFONTAINE – The Greenville varsity boys’ tennis team stayed perfect with a 4-1 win over the Bellefontaine Chieftains, moving to 2-0 in the new season.

“All around, we were hitting the ball really well and competing well for it being a cold afternoon for tennis,” said Greenville coach Sam Bowers. “Bellefontaine had beat us the past two years in tight matches, so it was one we wanted this year and felt good to leave with a win.”

Senior Mason Pierri and freshman Hudson Pierrie won singles matches for the Green Wave.

Avery Yount / Drew Beisner and Kaitlin Combs / Silas Lacey earned wins in doubles play.

“This week will test us with playing really good competition,” Bowers said, “so happy to get the win and go to the next.”
