DAYTON – The Greenville Green Wave varsity boys tennis team swept the homestanding Stebbins Indians 5-0 in MVL action.

“First win and MVL win feels good and was hopefully a confidence booster for our young team after playing some really good competition early,” said Greenville coach, Sam Bowers. “It was great to have a match where our kids looked confident, with everyone winning in dominate; straight set fashion.”

Mason Pierri, first singles; Mason Middlestetter, second singles; Kaitlyn Combs, third singles; Will Gettinger and Simon Snyder, first doubles and Avery Yount and Kelly Combs at second doubles all picked up wins for the Wave.

“It was fun to see Kelly Combs, who is playing tennis for her first year, make her varsity debut with Avery Yount in Second Doubles get a win,” Bowers stated. “She has improved tremendously in just her first couple months playing tennis & that is what it is all about.”
