GREENVILLE – The boys tennis team kept its match play win streak intact with a 4-1 non-conference win over the Eaton Eagles.

“We continue to keep playing better & better tennis, which is important this time of the year & leading into sectionals next week,” said Greenville coach, Sam Bowers. “These kids have exceeded my expectations with having an extremely young team coming into the year, has me very excited about the future.”

The Green Wave earned winning matches from singles players Mason Pierri, Mason Middlestetter & Kaitlin Combs and finished off the night with a win from the doubles team of Avery Yount and Drew Beisner as well.

“Mason Pierri looked great again at first singles, he’s now 16-7 on the season, with being undefeated out of conference,” Bowers stated. “He has the 2 seed heading into sectionals so I’m looking forward to seeing him keep preparing for that.”

Greenville travels to Northridge for a Friday night non-conference match. “We get to have another win opportunity tonight vs Northridge,” said Coach Bowers.

With the Thursday night win Greenville improves to 11-7 on the season and extends its current winning streak to nine consecutive matches.
