DARKE COUNTY – On Thursday at approximately 1:35 PM, Darke County Deputies, along with Greenville Rescue and Laura Fire, responded to the 9200 block of SR 571 East for a reported two-vehicle injury crash with one vehicle rolled over. Upon arrival, it was discovered that it was a single-vehicle crash with injury.
Preliminary investigation revealed a 2022 Blue Chevy Trailblazer driven by Jesse Hootman (17) of Greenville, was traveling North West on SR 571 East. Jesse advised that an unknown vehicle was traveling southeast when this vehicle went left of center, coming at him. Jesse advised that he swerved to avoid the collision, causing him to run off the right side of the road, hitting a ditch and a tree before his vehicle came to rest on its passenger side. Jesse was transported to Wayne Hospital for suspected injuries.
This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
