In all, the foundation awarded $11,610 this year, and over $162,000 through the years in assistance to teachers and faculty for projects that help provide the best educational opportunities for the students of Greenville City Schools. The Board of Trustees wishes to thank each one who has supported the foundation during the past year and helped to make these awards possible. Recipients are: CDR Mark Atkinson, CPO Justin Travis, Julie Brewer, Katy Copas, Phil Fretch, Nicole Hawk, Georgia Lange, Kim Ruhenkamp, Krista Weiss, Kelsey Wise and Corey Zickefoose. They are pictured with foundation board members.
The foundation has also awarded over $144,000 in scholarships to graduating Greenville seniors since its beginning a little over 10 years ago. Funding for scholarships has been largely due to major donors: Robert and Mary Beasecker, and Richard and Dianne Brown. Mr. Brown has also recently added yet another scholarship opportunity to Greenville seniors who are pursuing further education in a music-related field.
