DOMESTIC DISPUTE
November 10, 2025 – At 10:14 pm, I was dispatched to 400 Union Street in reference to a domestic dispute.
Upon arrival, I made contact with Tabitha Hodge. Tabitha stated there was an argument between her and her husband, Nathan Hodge. She stated this argument began when she came into the house to ask Nathan to go fill the propane tank she was using to heat the garage, where she was sleeping for the night. Nathan arrived a short time later and advised the same.
Both stated this was a verbal altercation and not physical. No children were present during this incident.
November 19, 2025 – BCI only between Kylie Bradfield and Gina Laprairie. Kylie and Gina are daughter and mother who reside at the listed address and were in a verbal argument. No signs or claims of a physical altercation. Both parties stayed at the residence. No children were present.
NARCOTICS
November 15, 2025 – Approximately 8:59 am, I was dispatched to 1850 Livingston Road in the city of Greenville reference a suspicious person and vehicle. The caller had advised GPD dispatch that a subject had been sitting in the vehicle in the parking lot for approximately an hour. The caller advised GPD dispatch the license plate of the vehicle was KUL9830, which returned to a 2019 Chevy Tahoe, black in color, which was registered to Ryan Sprenkel.
Upon my arrival, I observed the listed vehicle sitting in the middle of the parking lot. As I
pulled in, I was unable to see inside due to the dark window tint.
I exited my police cruiser and walked over to the vehicle. While looking through the front windshield, I was able to see an individual whom I know as Ryan Sprenkel, sitting in the driver’s seat with his head down, appearing to be asleep. I observed that it appeared Ryan had been drooling and there was food on the front of his hoodie that appeared to be from a plate of food that was sitting on the center console.
I knocked on the windshield of the vehicle several times, to which Ryan woke up and exited the vehicle. As I walked around to the driver’s side of the vehicle to speak with Ryan, he began reaching around in the driver’s seat of the vehicle as if he was looking for something. I advised Ryan to me which he finally stopped reaching into the vehicle and advised that he was looking for his shoe. At that time, I observed that Ryan was only wearing one shoe.
I asked Ryan if he had any weapons on him and he advised that he only had money. At that time, I observed a large amount of US Currency in his hoodie pocket, which he advised he won at the casino in Dayton. While speaking with Ryan, he was at times slow to respond and hard to understand. It should be noted that over the past couple of years, officers from the Greenville Police Department have received tips from citizens regarding Ryan’s use and trafficking of cocaine.
I asked Ryan how long he had been here which he advised approximately 0500 hours. I asked Ryan why he pulled into the parking lot here, as he advised that he thought he had hit something. I and Sgt. Prickett checked the vehicle and found no new damage.
I asked Ryan if there were any guns in the vehicle, and he advised there were none. I asked him if I could look through his car, which he advised I could.
While continuing to speak with Ryan, he stated he had been to a “friend’s” house and he had been up for about 26 hours. I asked Ryan if there was anything in the vehicle, which he stated there was not. I asked him if I could search the vehicle, which he advised I could.
Prior to searching the vehicle, I asked Ryan to hand me what he had in his pocket, which he handed me several thousand dollars in US Currency, which he again advised was winning at the casino.
While searching the vehicle, I located a clear plastic baggie containing a white powder-like substance, which appeared to be cocaine. Also in the center console was a digital scale and a red funnel with white residue inside it. Sitting between the center console and the radio were two white pills. Sgt. Prickett checked the markings on the pill through Drugs.com and found it was Oxycodone and Acetaminophen, with Oxycodone being a Schedule II narcotic.
I attempted to detain Ryan in handcuffs, but found his wrists were too big and we were unable to cuff him from behind with the set of cuffs we had. Ryan was advised he was detained and was going to sit in the back seat of my police cruiser and placed in the back seat. I advised Ryan of his Miranda Rights, which he stated he understood.
I continued searching the vehicle and no other evidence was located. I weighed the plastic baggie and its contents with the digital scale found in the center console and found it was an unofficial weight of 15 grams, which is over the bulk amount of 5 grams and more than 10 grams but less than 20 grams, making this charge a felony of the 3rd degree.
I asked Ryan if he knew what I found, to which he advised “caffeine” stuff. I asked Ryan what kind of caffeine he said was a cocaine caffeine called “bump it”. I asked Ryan if
it would test positive for cocaine, which he advised it probably would and stated he got it from a friend in West Carrollton.
I asked Ryan what he was playing at the casino to win it all the money, which he advised he was playing slots and there was paperwork in the vehicle from the casino. I later found the paperwork from the casino, which shows Ryan cashed out the money from the casino on November 15th, 2025.
I asked Ryan about the pills I had found, which he denied knowing anything about them but advised that he does not have a prescription for Oxycodone.
Sgt. Prickett went to the Greenville Police Department and retrieved a Nik test kit for cocaine. Once he was back on scene, I tested the powder substance, which showed a presumptive positive test for cocaine.
Ryan was advised he was going to be arrested and was placed in handcuffs in the front, which were double-locked and gap-checked.
Ryan’s vehicle and possessions, including his money, were released to his friend, Bryant Schott.
Ryan was transported to the Darke County Jail where he was booked on charges of Possession of Cocaine, a felony of the 3rd degree, and Possession of Drugs, a felony of the 5th degree.
The backseat of my police cruiser, 1937, was checked prior to and after transport and no contraband was located.
The listed evidence was transported to the Greenville Police Department, where it was packaged and placed into property as evidence.
The listed narcotics will be sent to the BCI Crime Lab for analysis.
WANTED
November 17, 2025 – I located Sofia Smith at the Darke County Courthouse. Smith had an active warrant through the Greenville Police Department for FTA on a domestic violence charge with no bond. Smith’s warrant was confirmed through dispatch. Smith was placed into handcuffs that were gap-checked for tightness and double-locked. Smith was transported to the Darke County Jail and left with on-duty staff. The rear of my cruiser was checked before and after transport with no contraband located.
November 17, 2025 – At approximately 2015 hours I was dispatched to 5805 Jaysville Saint Johns Road in reference to a wanted person, Tyler Gear.
Tyler called the Darke County Sheriff’s Office and stated he knew he had a warrant and asked what his bond was. The Darke County Sheriff’s Office pinged Tyler’s phone and it showed he was at the listed address.
Dispatch checked Tyler through LEADS/NCIC and confirmed Tyler has an active arrest warrant through the Greenville Police Department for failure to appear for trial for Domestic Violence with a bond of $5,025.
Upon arrival, I made contact with Tyler, and I placed him in handcuffs. The handcuffs were double-locked and gap-checked. I placed Tyler in the back seat of my cruiser and transported him to the Darke County Jail. Tyler was released to the jail staff.
The backseat of my cruiser was checked before and after the transport, and I found nothing.
