NARCOTICS
August 5, 2025 – While sitting in the area of Oxford Dr and Russ Rd in the city of Greenville, I observed Eric Cuzzort operating the listed 2007 Buick SUV. I had prior knowledge that Eric Cuzzort’s Ohio Driving privileges were under two non-compliance suspensions. I then initiated a traffic stop.
I made contact with Cuzzort and advised him of the reason for the traffic stop. Cuzzort claimed to have just left his place of employment, but I observed him sitting in his vehicle in a parking lot approximately 30 minutes prior in the 600 block of Wagner Ave. Cuzzort stated that he works in Ansonia. Tyler Mayo, Cuzzort’s front-seat passenger, stated he did not have a valid driver’s license.
When asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle, Cuzzort stated that there was not. Cuzzort agreed to a consent to search. Before exiting his vehicle, Cuzzort stated he was going to grab his cigarettes and lighter. Cuzzort opened the pack up and presented them to me. I asked Cuzzort if I could check his pack and he replied, “Yeah, go ahead,” and handed me his pack of cigarettes. I opened the pack and located a small plastic bag inside containing an unknown substance suspected to be methamphetamine. I held the bag up and asked Cuzzort what it was. When I stated I believed it to be methamphetamine, he asked why he would hand me a pack of cigarettes with drugs in it.
Cuzzort exited his vehicle and was searched, with nothing else located on his person. Passenger, Tyler Mayo, exited the vehicle and denied a search of his person.
Upon searching the vehicle, I located a glass smoking device with burnt residue in the glove box in a case directly in front of the passenger seat. The glass smoking device was in the shape of a Ninja Turtle. Tyler Mayo was searched, with nothing illegal located.
Cuzzort is on parole through the state of Ohio. Parole Officer McWhinney arrived on scene and stated she was going to put an investigation hold on Cuzzort. I placed Cuzzort into handcuffs that were gap checked for tightness and double locked. Cuzzort was transported to the Darke County Jail by Sgt Raffel.
The vehicle was towed by Saunders Towing in reference to this being the second time Cuzzort was caught driving it without a license and it was not legally parked.
The suspected drugs, smoking device, and pack of cigarettes that had the unknown substance were transported to the Greenville Police Department and placed into property as evidence. The suspected drugs will be sent to the lab for analysis. Pictures were taken of the exterior and interior of the vehicle.
Once results are returned, potential drug and driving under suspension charges will be filed.
WARRANT
July 30, 2025 – At approximately 9:24 pm, I observed a teal-colored Chevy traveling East on Russ Rd near Benden Way in Greenville, OH. I ran the plate through LEADS/ NCIC and discovered that the registered owner had an active warrant through Sidney PD for violation of a protection order, no bond.
I conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver, who was discovered to be the registered owner, Garold Bashore. While speaking with the driver, dispatch was able to confirm the warrant; I had Garold step out of the vehicle and I placed him into handcuffs that were gap checked and double locked. Garold was placed in the back seat of my cruiser. I asked Garold if I could search the vehicle and he gave consent to search. While searching between the driver and passenger seat, I located a green pipe with suspected crystal meth inside. I continued to search the area where I also discovered a small, clear bag containing suspected crystal meth. The pipe and baggy were collected and transported to the Greenville PD, where they will be sent to the crime lab for analysis.
I transported Garold to the Darke County Jail, where he was released to jail staff. Garold’s van was moved to the parking lot of the Quality Inn; they advised it was ok for it to be parked there. The back seat of the cruiser was checked after transport.
