THEFT
August 07, 2025 – At approximately 7:16 pmI responded to 400 North Gray Avenue in the City of Greenville in reference to a possible theft.
Upon my arrival, I spoke to John Nicholson, who stated he left his white and orange STIHL FS38 weed eater with Joshua Sands on 07/28/25 for him to use. Joshua lives at the listed address in apartment B. This address contains multiple apartments.
John advised me that Joshua told him the weed eater was outside and ready for him to pick up the morning of 08/07/25. John stated on 08/07/25 at approximately 7 pm, he arrived at the residence to pick up his weed eater and did not observe it where Joshua stated he had left it. John advised Joshua works nights, so he was asleep during the day when the weed eater went missing. When John asked Joshua about the weed eater’s whereabouts, Joshua advised him that the weed eater was there this morning. Joshua also advised the people who live in the bottom-floor apartment to move out the same morning.
I tried to call Joshua about the incident, but was unable to get a hold of him and was unable to leave a message. I will need to follow up with Joshua to see if he has any information about the whereabouts of this weed eater. John did not have any identifying information regarding the weed eater, just the make and model.
John filled out a written statement as well as a victim rights form.
