PRIVATE PROPERTY ACCIDENT
April 11, 3:08 p.m.: Police were dispatched to Whirlpool, 1701 Kitchenaid Way in reference to a private property accident. Upon arrival, officers made contact with drivers Elizabeth Broderick and Bryan Castro. Bryan advised that Elizabeth had backed into his listed yellow Toyota. He advised they were leaving work at Whirlpool, when she backed into him in the parking lot. Elizabeth then advised she did not see him backing out when the accident occurred. Police then noticed a dent on the trunk of Bryan’s vehicle. There was minor damage to Elizabeth’s rear bumper. They made contact with Whirlpool employee Amanda Wheldon to retrieve video of the incident. On April 14, 10:28 a.m., officers retrieved the video. Video shoes Elizabeth backing out of her parking space to go south bound in the parking lot. Bryan backs out of his parking space to travel north bound in the parking lot. They both began backing out of their respective parking spaces simultaneously. They then backed into each other. The video was placed into property as evidence. There was nothing further for this report.

PROPERTY
April 10, 2:13 p.m.: Police were dispatched to Greenville Police Department, in reference to fake currency found in the Walmart parking lot. Upon arrival, police made contact with Sheryl Lavy who advised she found a replica of a $10 bill by her vehicle in the Walmart parking lot between 7:15 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Sheryl advised she waited several hours to report it because she was unsure to rather throw it away or report it. The listed item was placed in property in case further reports are made with replica U.S. currency used in transactions.

April 13, 2:18 p.m..: Police were dispatched to the Greenville Police Department, in reference to found property. Upon arrival, they spoke with the complainant, Robert Downing who advised he found the listed blue bag on the side of road on SR 118 in between Greenville and Ansonia. Robert advised he found the bag at about 8 p.m. on April 12 and was not sure what to do with it so he brought it to GPD. The listed blue bag contained a bible, a container of wet wipes, two hair brushes, a bottle of Bio Freeze, four feminine hygiene products and one key with the #9 on it, inside of the bag. The bag and all contents were placed into property for safekeeping. Dispatch did not locate any reports of missing or stolen items matching the listed property.

THEFT NOT IN PROG

April 18, 8:12 p.m.: Police responded to the 300 block of S, Broadway St., at the Mini Mall of All, in reference to a theft complaint that occurred on April 15, at around 11 a.m. Upon arrival, police made contact with owner Gail Jones. Gail advised that when she arrived to the store earlier on today’s date, she noticed that a pair of black Bose Headphones was missing from the store. Gail stated that she looked back through her sales paperwork and noticed that there was not a sale for the headphones. Gail stated that a customer located the sleeve of the box that the headphones were in laying on a table inside of the store. Gail was able retrieve video of the incident which occurred on April 15 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. In the video, a subject wearing a hat, blue jacket and jeans, identified as Thomas Lee, can be seen grabbing the box of headphones off of a shelf near the register. Thomas can then be seen taking the box to the back of the store where he takes the sleeve of the box off and puts the box containing the headphones into his jacket. Thomas then passed all points of sales and exited the store without paying for the item. Gail filled out a written statement and a victims rights form The total loss is valued at $199. Video is attached as evidence. The sleeve was taken and placed into property as evidenceGail also advised that the time stamps on the video are incorrect but the date is correctA misdemeanor citation will be filled out a placed in the briefing log for when Thomas is located
