PIQUA – Greenville traveled to Piqua to take on the Indians in a MVL varsity baseball game and came home with a 6-2 win.
“It’s a good day when middle school baseball, JV baseball, and varsity baseball all get wins,” said Greenville varsity coach Adam Eberwein. “Makes it even better when all wins were against Piqua.”
The Green Wave took advantage of a Piqua error and an unearned run to lead 1-0 in the top of the second inning.
Greenville added two runs in the top of the third, getting an Isaac Kerg walk and an RBI single off the bat of Jackson Eberwein. Braeden Wills followed with a double and scored on a Charlie Jasenski run-scoring groundout and a 3-0 lead with three in the book.
The Wave made it a 4-0 game in the top of the sixth with a Titus Eberwein single to left and a Michael Fox RBI single to right. Piqua got on the board with a single run in the top of the inning, sending the game to the seventh with Greenville leading 4-1.
